Penina Golf Resort

Penina Golf Course

The Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course offers some of the most demanding tests of a player’s skills in the Algarve, if not in Portugal. The holes are crossed and flanked by a series of streams and water hazards. The course is beautifully maintained, winding past tall stands of eucalyptus and clumps of palm to mainly lofty greens which have delicate slopes and sometimes treacherous speeds.

Positioned in the western Algarve, Penina Hotel & Golf Resort is widely renowned as the true home of Portuguese golf. The Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course was the first 18-hole course to have been constructed in the Algarve, it was completed in 1966 and is a par 73 over 6,200 meters (approx. 6,800 yards)

Set in a stunning 360-acre estate, amidst an impressive array of natural surroundings, the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort has been voted Portugal's Leading Golf Resort by the World Travel Awards. The Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course has hosted 10 Portuguese Opens and scores of other prestigious tournaments.

The Penina hotel is one of the best resort hotels in the Algarve and will reward you with a truly memorable stay.

The academy facilities are noted to be some of the best in the region and as such have hosted many of the Quality Golf Destinations training academies.
