Vale do Lobo has two 18-hole championship golf courses, renowned as two of the best in the world. The combination of links and inland golf provides an enjoyable game for golfers of all standards.
Do not be fooled by the apparent shortness of the courses. The tricky sea breezes will destroy many a good card, (been there, done that!!!).
The Ocean Golf Course: an 18-hole par 73 over 5,600 meters (approx. 6,100 yards) features undulating fairways which run alongside a nature reserve, before leading gently down to the shores of the Atlantic
The front nine is hilly land which characterises Vale do Lobo and is surrounded by pine trees with sea view from several holes.
The back nine is characterised by spectacular ocean views, with some holes almost stretching down to the beach. The views from the 11th fairway stretch to the beach and is truly inspiring.
The Royal Golf Course: an 18-hole par 72 over 5,600 meters (approx. 6,100yards) has rolling fairways set amidst pine trees and beautiful lakes.
The Royal Golf Course features include the almost island green of the 9th and the famous 16th, with cliff-top carry. This is a truly wonderful hole and one of the most celebrated golfing images in the world. Stand on the tee, whilst being in contention for the beer money will certainly concentrate your mind!!
