Located in the Central Algarve in Vilamoura, the Pestana Group owned Vila Sol Hotel and Golf resort designed by Donald Steele was opened in 1991. 

The layout consists of three 9-hole courses all par 36:

Prime (holes 1 to 9) 3,200 meters (approx. 3,500 yards).

Challenge (holes 10 to 18) 3,100 meters (approx. 3,400 yards).

Prestige (holes 19 to 27) 3,100 meters (approx. 3,400 yards).
